Powerball jackpot of $310 million highest ever in Florida

There was no jackpot winner in Powerball Wednesday night, so the estimated jackpot for Saturday night is $310 million.

That is the highest jackpot since the Florida Lottery joined the game more than two years ago.

And if you take a one-time, lump-sum payment, it is estimated at an incredible $193.4 million.

Several people in Florida won $10,000 Wednesday night by matching four numbers and the Powerball.

The numbers were 17 – 28 – 38 – 39 – 51 and the Powerball was 33.

Lottery promotion Wednesday at Walmart Neighborhood Market in Avalon Park

A while back, Walmart began selling lottery tickets at its Neighborhood Markets.

Travis Motes, manager of the Walmart Neighborhood Market in Avalon Park, said ticket sales have been good at his store. Now it’s time to celebrate with a special promotion from the Florida Lottery.

From 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, each time you buy $10 worth of lottery tickets, you get to spin the prize wheel for Florida Lottery tickets and merchandise. And from 2 to 4 p.m, 105.9 FM will be doing a remote radio broadcast from the store.

In addition to the lucky wheel, the Florida Lottery is also going to have its Blizzard of Bucks machine where you get a chance to grab some cash.

The store is at 433 Avalon Park South Blvd.

These events are always a lot of fun. So stop by and tell Travis that Mr. Lucky sent you.

Next Powerball jackpot: $250,000,000

My friend Bill has already bought his Powerball tickets for Wednesday night.

Bill, who will soon turn 75, only plays Powerball when the jackpot reached $200 million.

A lot of people are like that. Folks who don’t normally play Powerball will be digging into their pockets this week.

Wednesday night’s jackpot is an estimated $250 million with a lump-sum payment of $156 million.

If we don’t have a jackpot winner Wednesday night, the prize should soar into the $300 million range.

On Saturday night, one Florida player matched the five white balls and, because the ticket was bought with Power Play, won $2 million.
