Spending an extra dollar for Lotto Xtra is doesn’t increase the size of a jackpot prize, but it can sure help you win one.

If you buy Lotto Xtra and get two numers right, you win a free ticket.

A free ticket was one of two winners in Wednesday night’s drawing. It marks the first time a free Quick Pick has won a Lotto jackpot, making it the largest prize ever won in Florida with a free ticket.

The free ticket was obtained at a Publix in Sebastian.

It shares the $40 million jackpot with a ticket purchased at Weedman Grocery in St. Augustine.

Another 47 tickets matched 5 of 6 numbers. Most of them won $5,199, but four used Xtra to increase the prize to $10,398.

The winning numbers were 01, 08, 15, 44, 46 and 47.

Saturday night’s jackpot will be $2 million.

There was no jackpot winner in Powerball, so the big prize climbs to an estimated $37 million for Saturday night.

Three people in Florida matched four numbers and the Powerball Wednesday night, but just one used Power Play to increase the prize from $10,000 to $40,000.

The winning numbers were 18, 28, 31, 48, 52 and the Powerball was 37.
